But Journal of Behavior Therapy and Experimental Psychiatry recently came out with a finding saying nail biting was indeed an indicator that the person might be a perfectionist. Doctor Keiron O’Connor said that we believe that individuals with these behaviors may be perfectionistic and find it difficult to relax and perform tasks at a pace and that’s pretty normal.
He wrote,“We believe that individuals with these repetitive behaviors may be perfectionistic, meaning that they are unable to relax and to perform tasks at a normal pace. They are therefore prone to frustration, impatience, and dissatisfaction when they do not reach their goals.”
